Job Opportunity ~ Racquet Club Associate

The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Racquet Club Associate with the Pelham Racquet Club.  This is a non-supervisory position engaged in construction, repair, or maintenance of the Pelham Racquet Club and Facilities. Duties include operating various types of heavy and small equipment, facilitating directives for the care of the Pelham Racquet Club and Facilities and also, but not limited to:

Operate mowers, tractors, motor vehicles and other various heavy and light equipment; utilize a variety of hand and power tools in Racquet Club landscape maintenance work.

Perform routine maintenance of such equipment keeping maintenance records for equipment; Prepare and maintain clay courts and hard courts on a daily basis; Clean restrooms and pick up litter around Racquet Club facility; Perform a variety of duties in the maintenance and repair of the Racquet Clubs Irrigation system.

Prune Trees and shrubs; Clean walks, fields, courts, and other facilities; Perform unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks involving the maintenance, construction and repair of park and recreational facilities; Apply Herbicides and Pesticides in a safe manner consistent with the products label.

May assist in other departments of the City when necessary.

Knowledge of uses and purposes of general construction tools, equipment and safe work practices.  The ability to perform unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled tasks in a variety of construction and maintenance activities.   The ability to perform heavy manual labor.  Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.  The ability to learn to operate a variety of construction and maintenance equipment. The ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions. Must have the ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with employees and the general public.

Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Salary and benefits beginning at $26,587.00
