The City of Pelham is supported by numerous departments. Each department is unique and important in its role to support the community. Departments include the following: Administration (clerical support, accounting/financial support), Court, Engineering (City Engineer), Building Inspections & GIS, Revenue, Human Resources, Facilities Maintenance & Landsacpe, Library, Parks & Recreation, Public Works (laborers for maintenance and repair of streets and other community areas), and Garage (mechanics to support operation and maintenance of all city vehicles), Police, and Fire. Also included is the Pelham Water/Sewer organization, Pelham Racquet Club, Ballantrae Golf Club and Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena.

POLICE DEPARTMENT/DISPATCHER ~ The City of Pelham will be accepting applications for entrance testing for the position of Dispatcher in the Pelham Police Department. This sheet has been prepared to assist you in the completion of the application and submitting the completed application for the test. It is preferred that you complete the application by using the link below for a PDF fillable form; handwritten is acceptable, but MUST be legible, using black ink. (Applications received in pencil will be disqualified.)
Blank applications may also be picked up at City Hall, Main Building, (Room 109) Human Resources, 3162 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124 beginning at 8:00 AM, November 13, 2014 through November 26, 2014 at 5:00 PM. City Hall is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
You must fully complete all items on the application. If any question or section is not applicable to you then use the notation ‘N/A’ in the appropriate space. A false answer to a question in the application may be grounds for not employing you; or grounds for dismissal after hiring. All statements are subject to investigation.

Test date is Tuesday, December 9, 2014. You must be in the testing area at 9:00 AM sharp. Doors will be closed and there will be no admittance for late applicants. Testing will be approximately two and a half (2.5) hours in length. No communication devices are allowed in the testing area.
Test location is the Pelham Civic Complex, 500 Amphitheater Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Doors will open at 8:00 AM on December 9, 2014 for registration. You must bring a photo ID to the test site.

APOSTC POLICE OFFICER ~ The Pelham Police Department is now accepting applications for an APOSTC certified police officer. You must have a minimum of two years experience. College education is not required but preferred. Applicant must have a current Alabama Drivers License or the ability to obtain one. You must meet eligibility requirements for accessing certain confidential records along with the ability to legally possess and carry a handgun. Salary and benefits beginning at $44,000.00. The department is looking for a self motivated individual seeking employment with a professional law enforcement agency.
