PARK ASSOCIATE – The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Park Associate with the Park & Recreation department. This job involves manual labor of an unskilled nature including both heavy and light physical labor as it relates to routine maintenance of the City’s parks, such as, but not limited to:
Must be able to establish and maintain a working relationship with employees and the general public.
Sows grass seed or plants trees, shrubs, or flowers, according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area; Applies herbicide or mulch to designated areas; Grubs and weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds; Trims hedges and prunes trees; Mows lawns; Picks up or carts away paper and rubbish.
Repairs and paints benches, tables and guardrails, and assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
Maintain Baseball and Football in season daily.
Perform light equipment maintenance on a weekly basis.
Assist Civic Complex with Ice Rink Glass removal and placement 4 to 5 times a year.
Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
Salary and benefits beginning at $26,587.00
