PARK ASSOCIATE – The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Park Associate with the Park & Recreation department. This job involves manual labor of an unskilled nature including both heavy and light physical labor as it relates to routine maintenance of the City’s parks, such as, but not limited to:
Must be able to establish and maintain a working relationship with employees and the general public.
Sows grass seed or plants trees, shrubs, or flowers, according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area; Applies herbicide or mulch to designated areas; Grubs and weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds; Trims hedges and prunes trees; Mows lawns; Picks up or carts away paper and rubbish.
Repairs and paints benches, tables and guardrails, and assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
Maintain Baseball and Football in season daily.
Perform light equipment maintenance on a weekly basis.
Assist Civic Complex with Ice Rink Glass removal and placement 4 to 5 times a year.
Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

DISPATCHER ~ The City of Pelham will be accepting applications for employment and entrance testing for the position of Dispatcher in the Pelham Police Department.

Test date is Tuesday, May 6, 2014. You must be in the testing area at 9:00AM sharp. Doors will be closed and there will be no admittance for late applicants. Testing will be approximately two and a half (2.5) hours in length. No communication devices are allowed in the testing area.
Test location is the Pelham Civic Complex, 500 Amphitheatre Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Doors will open at 8:00AM on May 6, 2014 for registration. You must bring a photo ID to the test site.

APOSTC POLICE OFFICER ~ The Pelham Police Department is now accepting applications for an APOSTC certified police officer. You must have a minimum of two years experience. College education is not required but preferred. Applicant must have a current Alabama Drivers License or the ability to obtain one.
