You will receive an automated message telling you that you have holds available for pickup at the Pelham Library. You may be notified by phone, email, or text depending on what you chose for notifications on your library account. A librarian would be happy to check your account and remind you of the notification option you chose at registration. We can even change the method for you.

We are working on a reopening plan with a phased approached to what services are a=offered. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and website for up to date information.
You can place holds for items through the library’s online catalog available at PelhamLibraryAL.gov or call us to request titles (please limit to 10 titles per call). Wait until you are notified that your holds are ready for pickup. (We can only pull available items during business hours.) Drive to the library, park in a space near the front door, and call us at 620-6418. Tell us your name and library card number. We will ask you to verify your account, then we will check your items out to you. Then we will place your requested items in a bag labelled with your name and place the bag on a table located under the front entryway. When you see the librarian return inside, you may exit your vehicle to get your books. Please remain in your car until the librarian has gone back inside.
If you have mobility issues, please let us know, remain in your car, and a staff member will bring the items to your car.
We have two services for digital items: Hoopla and Overdrive.
You can search for and place holds on items using the online catalog. You will need your library card number and your password. The password is the month and day of your birthday as a four-digit number. We have a PDF that can help walk you through the process that we are happy to email to you, or call us for help over the phone.

Yes! You may get a temporary library account.* Once we are able to reopen, you can turn your temporary account into a full library account. To receive a library card number, please email the library with the following information:

To access materials through Hoopla, download the Hoopla App or go to Hoopla.com. Follow the directions to create an account. You will need your library card number and PIN (month and day of your birthday as a 4-digit number). If you do not have a library card, you may get a temporary account.
